Cheo's Tacos has been on Alhambra Avenue in El Sereno since 2011. Five nights a week — Wednesday through Sunday — we fire up the trompo at six and run hard until eleven. Friday and Saturday, until midnight.
The taqueria is family-run, three generations deep on the floor. The al pastor is the signature, marinated overnight, sliced to order, pineapple included. The carnitas, asada, lengua, and cabeza all come off the same flame.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Cash or card. Bring an appetite. The 449 reviews aren't an accident.
